A broken body, frazzled mind, utter exhaustion and perished feet. All that pain washed away with a complete feeling of euphoria as I crossed the line in 5th place, having just completed the Spine Challenger 2018 in 31 hours.
Its all about knowing the route. The terrain is varied and if you dont want any suprises then its best to get to know it, in daylight, in darkness and when tipping with rain and blowing a gale!
We all know that food is fuel. If you have been lucky enough to be given a place in the 2018 Spine Challenger then at some point you need to think about your food strategy. Through the few events I have completed I've picked up my own routine as to how to manage this vital part of any race.
